On June 12, Murat Tokov, the host of the YouTube channel Cherny kub [Black Cube] , was detained in the Karachay-Cherkessia Republic. The channel provided critical information on the activities of regional authorities during the coronavirus pandemic. During the search, Tokov's phones and other equipment were confiscated. The regional investigative committee published information on its Instagram about the opening of a criminal case on fake news (Article 207.1 of the Criminal Code). The reason was posts on the Instagram accounts "Politics 09" and "Black Cube."
