The journalist Ayzirek Imanalieva was covering a feminist protest against rape and for women’s rights in Bishkek on the 8th March 2020. Protestors were attacked by representatives of the nationalist group “Kyrk Choroloru”, who started to beat women and children. Imanelieva’s attackers, who grabbed her phone out of her hand and smashed it, are still unknown.
