On April 14, publicist Gocha Barnovi was attacked during an interview on the Rustavi-2 TV channel. An unknown man approached him and started to make complaints about Barnovi's criticism of the Georgian Patriarch and hit him. The reason for criticism was the position of the Georgian Orthodox Church, which rejects suggestions of the government and doctors to restrict people going to the church during Easter services.
