It became known that political prisoner Dzianis Ivashyn was given a stricter imprisonment regime - he was transferred from the penal colony in Mahiliou to prison №8 in Zhodzina. In September 2022, Ivashyn was sentenced to 13 years and 1 month in a reinforced regime colony. He was found guilty under Article 365 of the Criminal Code of the Republic of Belarus (interference in the activities of an internal affairs officer) and Part 1 of Article 356 of the Criminal Code of the Republic of Belarus (treason). The journalist cooperated with the independent newspaper Novy Chas and was a participant of the initiative InformNapalm, known for his investigations. His last article for Novy Chas was about former fighters of the Ukrainian Berkut who escaped from the country and got a job in the Belarusian police.
