From 1 to October 6 2023, Gladys Temirchieva and other representatives from NGO and media of Kyrgyzstan participated in the OSCE Warsaw Human Dimension Conference. Temirchieva's colleagues Semetei Karypkulov, Giulshaiyr Abdirasulova and Timur Sultanov participated in the side event on freedom of assembly on October 6. After the speech, Temirchieva and Karypkulov were harassed by fake accounts and real people supporting the authorities of Kyrgyzstan and MP Nadir Narmatova, who is the initiator of a package of amendments to the law that is an analogue of the Russian law on foreign agents. In posts and comments, there were calls to bring journalists to justice, to detain and imprison them, calling them enemies of the state. This is not the first time journalists have been harassed. Similar pressure was recorded in the summer after the news campaign about the law on foreign agents.
