A court in Moscow sentenced in absentia Ayder Muzhdabaev to six years of imprisonment in the case of public calls to terrorism (Part 2 of Article 205.2 of the Criminal Code of the Russian Federation). Earlier, he had been put on a federal wanted list by The Ministry of Internal Affairs of Russia. A criminal case against Muzhdabaev was opened in 2019, at which time he was added to the «list of terrorists and extremists». The case was opened because of two posts on Facebook calling for «forcefully seizing Russian agents» and exchanging them for Ukrainian film director Oleh Sentsov, who was then serving a sentence in a Russian colony.
