The Pervomaysky District Court of Bishkek completed hearings on the lawsuit of the state TV channel ElTR against the independent media outlet PolitKlinika. The court ruled that the media outlet should publish a refutation. Earlier, investigative journalists accused the state TV channel of lying about the fact that «not a single loan was taken for the development of the energy sector under the rule of the current President of the Kyrgyz Republic Sadyr Zhaparov». However, the state TV channel claimed in a lawsuit that PolitKlinika allegedly «manipulated people’s opinion through inaccurate information and misled them», provided insufficient information, and asked for compensation in the amount of KGS 20 million (about USD 225,000).
