Stepan Safaryan, the Chairman of the Public Council of the Republic of Armenia, filed a lawsuit in the Yerevan Court of General Jurisdiction against Igor Khachaturov and “168 Zham” LLC (the founder of the newspaper and website of the same name) demanding that they publicly apologise for their “offensive” statements and each pay 500 thousand Dram in compensation. The lawsuit followed the publication of an article on March 2 on Blog.168.am entitled “Khachaturov’s son’s hard response to Stepa Safaryan”, where such expressions as “Turkish degenerate” and “sycophant of the schizophrenic owner” were used. The lawsuit is pending.
