The military court sentenced Mikhail Kozachkov, the journalist of the newspaper Vremya and author of the Telegram channel Kozachkov offside, to 3.5 years of suspended imprisonment on charges of disseminating knowingly false information and illegal collection of information about private life. The investigation against the journalist began in December 2022. On December 18, last year, he was detained and placed under arrest with the court’s sanction. Colleagues and human rights activists expressed the opinion that Kozachkov was persecuted for his professional activities.
