On May 1, the Vlast.kz correspondent Beimbet Moldagaliyev was detained at the place of the alleged rally in Astana. The journalist showed his official ID to the police, however, he was taken to the Saryarqa District Police Department. Beimbet was forbidden to report the incident to the editorial office, and they police tried to take his phone away from him. At the police station, the journalist was photographed and fingerprinted. Half an hour later, the journalist was released without explaining the reason for his detention.
