Independent media Shishkin._like received a pre-trial claim from Stopharm LLP, one of the largest distributors of medicines and medical devices. The company demands to refute and remove the material «Who controls the drug market of Kazakhstan», claiming that it «defames the reputation of Stopharm LLP and contains inaccurate information». In addition, the company believes that the media disseminates information related to commercial secrets. In case the material is not removed, Stopharm LLP reserved the right to apply to the authorised bodies for criminal prosecution of the media for dissemination of knowingly false information and to the court for compensation for moral damage.
