The press service of the Police Department of the Kostanay region disseminated a report about the rescue of a 3-year-old child by police officers: the girl’s mother had gone to the shop and left a kettle on the fire, and the child had closed the door from the inside. The press release was followed by media coverage illustrated with a photograph of a policeman, mother and child. The photo was provided by the police department’s press office; the faces of the woman and child were hidden in the photo. After the publications were released, the heroine of the article began writing to the editorial offices of local media outlets demanding that the publication be removed. The editor of the newspaper Nash Kostanay Tatyana Nazaruk reported about this demand in the WhatsApp chat «ЗВ and Media». Yelena Kasharina, adviser to the head of the PD, replied that in this case the law was not violated, as the personal data and images of the woman and child were not disclosed.
