Criminal cases have been opened against journalists Daler Imomali and Abdullo Gurbati. Daler’s lawyer Abdurakhmon Sharipov said that they were detained. «A criminal case has been opened against Daler Imomali under two articles of the Criminal Code: Part 1 of Article 259 (illegal entrepreneurship) by the Dushanbe City Prosecutor’s Office and Paragraph A of Part 2 of Article 346 (knowingly false denunciation) by the Shohmansur District Prosecutor’s Office», — the lawyer said. As for Gurbati, the Shokhmansur District Prosecutor’s Office opened a case against him under Part 1 of Article 328 (use of violence against a representative of the authorities) by a district police officer, Abdurakhmon Sharipov said. Both detainees are currently in the temporary detention center of the Dushanbe City Policy Department. Daler Imomali has partially pleaded guilty, while Abdullo Gurbati, who was Imomali’s cameraman, denies the charges, the defence lawyer added.
