On July 11, the correspondent of the news website CivilNet Hayk Ghazaryan was physically assaulted in Stepanakert, the capital of Nagorno-Karabakh. A group of individuals ambushed and attempted to kidnap the journalist, and when this failed, they severely beat him. Two days earlier, Hayk Ghazaryan's legitimate professional activities had been obstructed when he was covering a protest action in Stepanakert, a policeman approached him and snatched his phone from his hands, which was later returned, but the footage had been erased.
