The Ministry of Internal Affairs reported that officers of GUBOPiK detained Aliaksei Kaverin on charges of calling for violation of public order. A criminal case was opened against Kaverin (it is not specified under which articles). Until recently, Kaverin worked at the radio Gomel FM. Now, his name is not on the list of employees of the radio station. The Ministry also published a «penitential» video with the radio host: on it, the detainee says that he succumbed to information from destructive Telegram sources, wrote «various obscenities,» and says that he repents. On March 12, 2022, the Tsentralny District Court of Gomel sentenced Kaverin to one year in prison, accusing him of «organisation and preparation of actions that grossly violate public order or active participation in them» (Part 1 of Article 342 of the Criminal Code of the Republic of Belarus).
