The 2nd Western District Military Court in Moscow sentenced the author of the Telegram channel True Crime Ruslan Ushakov to eight years in prison. He was found guilty under articles on military «fakes» (Paragraph E of Part 2 of Article 207.3), rehabilitation of Nazism (Part 4 of Article 354.1), justification of terrorism (Part 2 of Article 205.2) and incitement to hatred (Paragraph A of Part 2 of Article 282) of the Criminal Code of the Russian Federation. The prosecutor’s office requested nine years in prison for the blogger. Ushakov was detained in December 2022; in court he said that law enforcers tortured him with electric shocks for the sake of confession. In his testimony, Ushakov stated that he «never endorsed Nazism and terrorism and had no aim to cause political hatred among people, and justified his posts by illiteracy».
