On April 20, a group of law enforcers with shields and sledgehammers arrived to the apartment of Aksana Kolb, the editor of the newspaper Novy Chas. They said they were taking her to the Investigative Committee for interrogation. After the interrogation, the journalist was detained for 10 days and placed in the temporary detention center on Akrestsina street. On April 22, Kolb was charged under Part 1 of Article 342 of the Criminal Code of the Republic of Belarus (organization and preparation of actions that grossly violate public order, or active participation in them) and was transferred to the detention center on Volodarskogo street in Minsk.
