The Supreme Court of Chuvashia overturned the acquittal ruling of a lower court against Darya Komarova. She was accused of participating in an unauthorized action for working at a meeting with Semyon Kochkin, a former co-ordinator of Alexey Navalny’s office in Cheboksary, which the latter held as part of his campaign for the city assembly of deputies in August 2020. According to Komarova, the police drew up an administrative report on her for participating in the rally six months after the event. On August 2, the Leninsky District Court of Cheboksary reconsidered the journalist’s case and imposed a fine of RUB 10,000 on her.
