For the presence at the rally on January 23, Vankov was charged with violation of the rules of participation in the rally (Part 5 of Article 20.2 of the Code of Administrative Offences of the Russian Federation) and non-compliance with the «high alert regime» declared in connection with the coronavirus epidemic (Part 1 of Article 20.6.1 of the Code of Administrative Offences of the Russian Federation). He attended the rally as a journalist with an editorial assignment. On June 28, the court dismissed Vankov’s case under the «coronavirus» article.
