An administrative fine of RUB 15,000 was imposed on the correspondent of the news agency Krasnaya Vesna after he covered an unauthorized rally in support of Alexey Navalny in Tambov on January 23. By the decision of the Oktyabrsky District Court, Denis Vankov, a freelance reporter of the news agency Krasnaya Vesna, was found guilty of disobeying federal law № 54 from July 19, 2004, and charged with participating in an unauthorized public demonstration, rally, march, or picket. The journalist was not detained at the rally; the report was drawn up on him a week later.
