On April 7, journalist Madina Ochilova spent eight hours in one of the police departments in Tashkent. Ochilova did not disclose the content of the interrogation. As one of Madina’s colleagues notes, «she is known for her critical articles on economics, finance, and investment. She and I have similar topics and I can assume why she might have been summoned. I suspect it was because of one company in the Radio Ozodlik investigation». The journalist was referring to a publication by Radio Ozodlik about dubious, according to the investigation, deals in Uzbekistan’s oil and gas sector.
