The Tverskoy District Court of Moscow found journalist Yevgeny Kurakin guilty of violating the rules of participation in a public event (Part 5 of Article 20.2 of the Code of Administrative Offences of the Russian Federation) and fined him RUB 15,000. Kurakin was fined because he took photos of the activist Alexander Roganov, who came to Red Square with a picket in support of political prisoners and persecuted journalists.
