On September 14, in the village of Sotk, Gegharkunik region of Armenia, Azerbaijani troops shelled a group of journalists carrying out their professional duties. The group included the correspondent of the Public Television of Armenia Vahe Kostandyan and cameraman Seyran Antonyan, the correspondent of the news agency Armenpress Karen Khachatryan, photographer Hayk Manukyan, cameraman Hovhannes Mkrtchyan, correspondent of the news website Radar Armenia Hayk Magoyan, as well as a foreign media representative who wished to remain anonymous. The shooting was conducted in an area far from the line of military clashes, which proves the premeditation and targeting of Azerbaijani soldiers against civilians and journalists, which is a gross violation of the requirements of the Geneva Conventions.
