Kirill Ponomarev, the journalist of The Moscow Times, was detained in Belgorod. At the time, he was interviewing refugees from Ukraine and introduced himself as a journalist from Ukraine during the conversation. Ponomarev was held for over 18 hours at the police station and released the next day with a fine of RUB 500 under Article 20.1 of the Code of Administrative Offences of the Russian Federation for petty hooliganism.
