It became known that political prisoner journalist and activist of the Union of Poles Andrzej Poczobut was charged with a new crime. Now he is also accused of «calling for restrictive measures (sanctions) aimed at harming national security» (Article 361 of the Criminal Code of the Republic of Belarus, which provides for 5 to 12 years of imprisonment). It is worth mentioning that this article appeared in the Criminal Code in December 2021. By that time, Poczobut had been behind bars for almost nine months — since March 25, 2021. How he called for sanctions from the detention center is not specified. Earlier, the journalist was accused of «inciting hatred» (Article 130 of the Criminal Code of the Republic of Belarus).
