On September 14, the former mayor of Yerevan Hayk Marutyan filed a suit with the Yerevan Court of General Jurisdiction against the public figure Hovhannes Shahinyan and the NGO Hayeli Club, which is the founder of the press center of the same name and the Hayeli.am news website. The reason for the lawsuit was the interview «Marutiayn Hayko — Loser Clown: Hovhannes Shahinyan» published on the website on September 6. The interview was aired live on the website’s YouTube channel, during which Shahinyan said, in particular, that there was rampant looting at the City Hall during Marutyan’s rule. The lawsuit is being considered.
