The Irkutsk District Court partially satisfied the claim for the protection of honor, dignity, and business reputation against the journalist Pavel Dobrodeyev. He was sued by a construction corporation, a construction company that was part of it, two deputies of the State Duma and the Irkutsk Region Legislative Assembly, and a charitable foundation. The subject of the lawsuit was a video on Dobrodeyev’s YouTube channel, in which he said that the Krasnoshtanov brothers’ construction company was failing to build a school. The journalist noted that this firm often delays deadlines and builds poorly and mentioned the deputy of the State Duma Anton Krasnoshtanov and member of the Legislative Assembly Alexey Krasnoshtanov. Dobrodeyev was obliged to remove the information and publish a refutation. The plaintiffs also asked to recover RUB 450,000 as compensation for moral damage and RUB 2.7 million of lost profits from Dobrodeyev, but they were denied.
