Yekaterinburg-based journalist Yelena Shukayeva emigrated from Russia to Germany. In recent months, she has been fined five times under the article on «discrediting» the army (Article 20.3.3 of the Code of Administrative Offences of the Russian Federation) for a total of RUB 200,000, then arrested for 14 days for publishing the 2017 film «Don’t Call Him Dimon», and finally declared a «foreign agent.» Shukayeva is in Magdeburg, planning to cooperate with the German society Memorial. Shukayeva cooperated with Radio Svoboda and other independent media, and was a freelance correspondent for Novaya Gazeta.
