A case on «military fakes» (Article 207.3 of the Criminal Code of the Russian Federation) was initiated against the publisher of Mediazona, Pyotr Verzilov. Verzilov was arrested in absentia and put on an international wanted list. He is accused of posts on Twitter and Instagram. According to the investigation, Verzilov spread allegedly false information «containing data on the use of the Armed Forces to kill civilians in Bucha». Verzilov had already been previously put on the wanted list in the case of failure to notify of second citizenship (Article 330.2 of the Criminal Code of the Russian Federation).
