Talgat Mustagulov, deputy chairman of the Committee on Information Security of the Ministry of Digital Development, Innovation and Information Security of Kazakhstan, sent a letter to the editorial office of the analytical Internet portal Ratel.kz, in which he demanded to "as soon as possible destroy or anonymize the personal data of the applicant and other persons in the article posted on July 28, 2022. He reminded journalists of the administrative responsibility but forgot to specify the article. Based on the text of the letter, the editorial office assumed that Citizen B. had applied to the Committee, and the article in question was about a lawsuit involving her.
