On December 20, in Tbilisi, while filming a report about the Ministry of Internal Affairs’ operation to counteract the activities of drug dealers, the cameraman of the Pirveli TV channel Niko Kokaia was attacked — he was insulted and there were attempts to take away and break the camera. The investigation is being conducted by Part 1 of Article 154 of the Criminal Code of Georgia (unlawful obstruction of professional activities of journalists), which provides for a fine or community service of up to 120-140 hours, or correctional labor of up to 2 years or house arrest from 6 months to 2 years.
