Vera.kz journalist Anna Tsurkanova faced threats when trying to photograph a school toilet. The journalist monitored the condition of the restrooms of educational institutions as part of an action announced by the Ministry of Education. After Tsurkanova went to the restroom to take a photo, a man ran up to her and demanded from her to leave the school in a rude manner. He started threatening her and then tried to throw her out the door. By that time, Tsurkanova had already managed to take the necessary photos and videos, so she decided to leave.
