One of the imprisoned Tajik journalists, Daler Imomali, revealed some details of his case in a letter from the Dushanbe detention center addressed to President of Tajikistan Emomali Rakhmon, a copy of which was also received by Asia Plus. Imomali writes that he does not agree with the verdict of the Shohmansur District Court of October 17, 2022, under which he was sentenced to 10 years in prison because the investigation and trial were «full of lies, slander, and duplicity». At the end of the letter, he warns that if any video with his participation or that of Abdullo Gurbati, Zavkibek Saidamini, and Abdusattor Pirmukhammadzoda is published, it should not be believed, because «the video was recorded illegally, under psychological pressure, it is libel».
