The Ministry of Justice of the Russian Federation included Venediktov in the register of «foreign agents». Journalists Alexander Nevzorov, Sergey Parkhomenko, Artur Asafyev, Yekaterina Lushnikova, and Vladimir Voronov were declared «foreign agents» along with him. The radio station Echo of Moscow and its website were shut down in early March. On March 24, a pig’s head was thrown in front of the door of Venediktov’s apartment and anti-Semitic inscriptions were left on it.
