The circulation of the Vecherny Almaty newspaper was withdrawn from sale on the instructions of the newspaper's Director General. According to the commercial director of the Alatau Akparat publishing holding, «there was an underprint, some technical problem». Meanwhile, the media reported that an interview with the writer Olzhas Suleymenov was published in the newspaper, in which he argued that the southern capital should be called Alma-Ata. The interview was also removed from the website of Vecherny Almaty.
