Journalists Islambek Dastan (Turaninfo.kz news agency) and Daniyar Alimkul (Channel 7 TV channel) were summoned for questioning by the police in connection with the pre-trial investigation under the article on the distribution of deliberately false information using telecommunications networks, launched after the distribution of a video in connection with the August 26 explosions at a military unit. The police believe that representatives of the media disseminated false information «about the illegal storage of shells on private property». Alimkul is in the status of a witness with the right to defense. Dastan was summoned to the police as a witness.
