Online activist Saltanat Tashimova was fined KZT 40,000 (about USD 100) for violating election laws — publishing information about a candidate for district akim in the Almaty region on a social network before the start of the election campaign. Since Tashimova paid the fine within 7 days, the amount of the fine was reduced by 50%.
