Stas Kiselyov, regional correspondent of the Vremya newspaper, and the owner of the Vremya newspaper, Vremya Publishing House LLP, acted as defendants in the lawsuit filed by N. Omarbekova to declare the information to be false. Omarbekova claims that defamatory information was disseminated by the defendants in the articles «Marriage of Settlement?» and «Miracles and their Debunking», dated 14.8.2018 and 30.1.2020, and demands to oblige the defendants to publish a refutation and exact from them KZT 500,000 as compensation for moral damage. The court dismissed the claim in full on the grounds that the information disseminated in the disputed text fragments was true. The court’s decision came into legal force.
