A Radio Azattyq reporter was unable to connect to an open online hearing in the case of 13 activists accused of organizing or participating in the activities of a banned association. The criminal proceedings in the case were declared open. Karina Shabanova, an employee of the district court in Almaty, told the journalist that «there are a lot of participants in the process» and promised to connect them to the next session. The next session was also held without media representatives and observers. The judge said that the capacity of the ZOOM application is limited and that observers can «create obstacles».
