On the evening of March 6, two police officers came to the home of Pavlodar-based journalist Alexander Baranov. They reported that they received a complaint from the management of Sapmar LLP (the owner of Ratel.kz) that the journalist in his article «Tokayev was not heard by everyone», published on February 1, by the online resource KZ.media, violated the copyright of the Ratel.kz information portal and spread knowingly false information. Referring to the complaint and the demand to bring the Pavlodar-based journalist to administrative responsibility, the police officers demanded verbal explanations from Baranov regarding the publication (when and under what circumstances he wrote it, why, for what purposes, on what social networks and information resources he posted it, etc.).
