Allegedly on July 2, after the tragic events in Nukus, Bakhtiyar Kadirbergenov, the journalist of the online media Yel Khyzmetinde (On the Service of the People), was detained. It is currently unknown what he is accused of and where he is being held. Kadirbergenov has his own YouTube channel «Bakhtiyar El Khyzmeti» (Bakhtiyar Serving the People). He also has a Telegram channel, but these channels were blocked after the detention of the journalist.
