The press conference organisers of the second President of Armenia, Robert Kocharyan, currently the leader of the opposition Armenia bloc, refused to accredit employees of the Civic.am news website, founded by the ruling Civil Contract party. Agnessa Khamoyan, the deputy of the parliament from the above-mentioned political bloc who coordinates the preparation and holding of the press conference, told the editorial office that Civic.am operates under the protection of the ruling party and that one of its journalists once ran for the Yerevan Council of Elders on the election list of the Civil Contract. On this basis, Khamoyan concluded that Civic.am is not a media outlet and is not subject to accreditation.
