Sayat Shirinyan, a member of the opposition Hayastan (Armenia) bloc, wrote a comment on the Facebook page of the Aravot.am news website with insulting, obscene expressions against the author of the article «Do You Know Lord’s Prayer?» Hripsime Jebejyan, as well as the heads of this media outlet. The article, published on September 26, told about a procession organised by the opposition to the Yerablur military pantheon in the capital, where during the mourning prayer ritual, the leader of the mentioned bloc, the second President of Armenia Robert Kocharyan, did not cross himself. On this occasion, the piece's author reminded how decades ago, in 1991, the first President of Armenia, Levon Ter-Petrosian, revealed that Kocharyan did not know Lord’s Prayer. It should be noted that according to the new law in force on August 30, criminal liability is stipulated for such «grave» public insults.
