TV8 journalist Mariana Rață sent a preliminary application to the businessman and former politician Cristian Rizea, who was sentenced to imprisonment in Romania due to corruption and has been hiding in Moldova for several years, to file a lawsuit for protection of honour, dignity, and professional reputation. Previously, Rizea had made defamatory statements against the journalist through his Instagram and YouTube accounts. The court is considering the case in the first instance.
