Additional information:
On November 25, the Georgian National Communications Commission fined the Mtavari Arkhi TV channel GEL 112,000 (about USD 35,000) for airing three «political advertisements», which is 1% of its annual revenue. Referring to the Law on Broadcasting, the Commission explains that the broadcaster is obliged to comply with the law on compliance of advertisement and not to air it at inappropriate times, which was not adhered to by the Mtavari Arkhi TV channel. In particular, the broadcaster placed political advertisements during the «non-election period», which was "prohibited by the law". However, the Commission does not specify which article of which law was violated.
