Maria Ponomarenko, the journalist of the independent media outlet RusNews, was detained in St. Petersburg. She is charged under Article 207.3 of the Criminal Code of the Russian Federation for spreading «knowingly false information» about the Russian army. A court in St. Petersburg extended Ponomarenko's detention by 72 hours so that her lawyers could study the materials of the case. She faces up to 10 years in prison.
