The former Chairman of the Public Council of the Republic of Armenia, Stepan Safaryan, filed a lawsuit with the Yerevan Court of General Jurisdiction against Taguhi Aslanyan, a correspondent of the Livenews.am news website, demanding to apologize for the insulting statements publicly and pay AMD 1,000,000 as compensation. The reason for the lawsuit was the post made by the journalist on her Facebook page, where the author, referring to unidentifiable sources, stated that the neighbours «pissed on Stepan Safaryan for serving the Prime Minister». The suit has been accepted for proceedings and is being considered.
