The news websites islaminsesi.org, deyerler.az, maideaz,ahlibeyt.az, shia.az, ehlibet.info and, azeri.sahartv.ir were blocked in Azerbaijan. In mid-October, the special services of Azerbaijan detained a group of religious figures on suspicion of ties with Iran. All the blocked websites had religious content. It is unknown at the moment whether there is a court decision to block the websites. The owners of the websites refuse to make a statement in connection with the blocking.
