Location: Russia, Moscow, Moscow

Additional information:

In the afternoon, near Teatralnaya Square in Moscow, police officers first kicked Vasily Vorona in the legs, then in the face, ripped his passport from his hands, and took his phone to check his messages on social media Telegram. The law enforcers had to rummage through the journalist's pockets to do this. Along the way, they threatened to «send him to Donbas» and tried to subject him to forced fingerprinting and photographing but finally gave up in connection with the late hour and a large number of detainees. The law enforcers ignored the journalist's ID, editorial assignment, and uniform for work at the rallies and drew up a report on him under Part 5 of Article 20.2 of the Code of Administrative Offences of the Russian Federation (violation by a participant of the public event of the established order of holding a meeting, rally, demonstration, march or picketing). The journalist was released 11 hours after his detention.
