Journalist Bermet Ulanova was summoned for interrogation to the Bishkek Pervomaisky District Prosecutor's Office as part of a criminal case against Kaktus.media. Earlier, on January 31, 2022, several editors of the news outlet were interrogated. Dina Maslova, the founder of the media, said that the media employees were questioned as witnesses in the case which the prosecutor's office initiated under Article 407 of the Criminal Code of the Kyrgyz Republic (propaganda of war, i.e. dissemination of views, ideas or appeals in any form to cause aggression of one country against another or unleash a military conflict). The criminal case concerns an article about the armed conflict in the border zone published by the Tajik news outlet Asia Plus.
